Show Savings Rate Increase Is Announced Effective January 1st, interest rates on savings accounts were increased to 2 per cent per annum at all 17 branch offices of the First Security Bank of Utah, National Ass'n., according to an announcement made by George S. Eccles, president. No top limit on accounts will be imposed, said Mr. Eccles, who added that all accounts in all amounts will receive a uniform 2 per cent interest rate. "We believe that this move will be a great encouragement for people to save and also act as an excellent cure on inflation," he stated. He noted also that savings throughout the First Security Corporation system of banks have already increased substantially substan-tially during the past year. Included in the 17 offices is the Sugar House Branch of the banking system. |
