Show Utah Museum Of Art Founded The Winifred Kimball Hud-nut Hud-nut collection of fine arts will soon have a "home" if the plans of the newly incorporated Utah Museum of Art are successful. Following its official organization organiza-tion on Feb. 12 and 13. the new non-profit corporation arranged -to meet with state senators and representatives to encourage in- . traduction of a bill which was introduced in Senate and House Wednesday to give state support sup-port to the museum in its efforts to "receive, house, preserve and exhibit" the collection, as well as other "objects of intrinsic and historical value from whatever what-ever sources received." I Organization chairman of the Utah Museum of Art is Horace A. Sorensenwho was also elected" elect-ed" first vice president and three year member of the board of trustees. George M. Gadsby is president, Mrs. Thomas A. Claw-son, Claw-son, second vice president, Spencer W. Kimball, third vice president, George R. Corey, secretary sec-retary and Thomas T. Taylor, treasurer. With the exception of Mr. Corey all the officers were named as members of the board of trustees, with the fo'lowing additional members: Clarence Bamberger, John M. Wallace, J. L. Firmage and Oscar R. Hep-pley. Hep-pley. ' The corporation will be open to memberships from any person per-son over 21 years of age from any and all states and countries. . further details on admission will be made known later by the board. Another integral part of the purposes of the Utah Museum of Art is "to cooperate fully with any other non-profit corporation cor-poration or organization now existing ex-isting or hereafter formed forj the acquisition of lands for, and the construction, maintenance and operation of. a civic auditorium audi-torium 'or building and facilities, for the accommodation of other ' civic enterprises." |
