Show Smith-Burnett Wedding Held Telegrams of congratulations, tin cans and old shoes on the car, rice in their baggage, their hair and everywhere . . . these traditional factors of every wedding wed-ding were very much in evidence evi-dence at the reception of the newly married Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Smith, Monday evening. The young couple greeted their many friends at a large reception given them by the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Burnett, 2503 Dearborn. The reception was held in the Stratford ward. The bride, the former Miss Gloria Elaine Burnett, wore white brocade gown en train and a fingertip veil of bride's illusion. She was attended by Miss Rosella Smith. Miss Isabel Carlisle and Miss Dorothy Hal- ; ling. Edward Fillerup served as best man. The new Mrs. Smith is a senior sen-ior student at the University of Utah where she is a member of Delta Gamma. Mr. Smith, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Smith, 1888 47th South, is a pre-medic pre-medic student at the "U" and a member of Delta Phi. The .couple were married in the Salt Lake temple in a ceremony cere-mony performed by Joseph Fielding Smith Monday morning. morn-ing. They will make their home in Salt Lake. |
