Last Sunday the stake Gleaners and M Men held a successful suc-cessful one in the form of a testimonial tes-timonial meeting. This Sunday evening the ward special interest inter-est group will hold a fireside at the Borg home, 1120 Wilson Avenue. PAUL ROYAL will be the speaker of the evening. Stake quarterly conference will be held Saturday and Sunday Sun-day with meetings in the Bryan Ward. Visiting speaker for these meetings will be T. C. STAYNOR of the general welfare wel-fare committee. A welfare meeting meet-ing will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday evening. During the evening two movies will be shown on welfare work. Sunday's Sun-day's meetings are at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Soon to join her sister in the ranks of LDS missionaries, although al-though not in the same field, is BETH HAKES. Beth has been called to the West Canadian Mission. Her sister NORMA was honored at a farewell last Sunday Sun-day evening in the ward. ' MAX GARRETT will leave from the Union Pacific station Friday evening at 5:45 on the first lap of his long trip to Uruguay for his mission. Three names have been voted upon to be ordained deacons, RICHARD MORRISS, JAMES R. SPENCE JR., and JAMES R. SPENCE SR. . . . Being missed up at the ROBERT DIVETT home, 1976 South 13th East are daughter BETH (MRS. DON MATHEWS), and her two little daughters, one just brand new. They have been spending some time in Salt Lake and have now returned to their home in Burley, Idaho. The stake Gleaner Girl, M Men hayride is scheduled for tonight, the 14th. It's sure to bei a lot of fun and the gang is leaving from Bryan Ward promptly at 7 p.m. Boy Scout Troop 64 of Sugar House Ward are percolating again with Scoutmaster MEL BOND and Assistant LEO CUTLER. CUT-LER. On Tuesday evening seven boys were presented their Tenderfoot badges: TED BURTON, BUR-TON, JIM PALMER, RUEL Mc-PHIE, Mc-PHIE, JIMMIE BOND, LARRY NORTH, RICHARD LARSON and RICHARD DILLENBECK. Special guests of the evening were the mothers of these boys and they were presented with a miniature Boy Scout badge. There's a new baby down at the RAYMOND NELSON home at Douglas. It's a baby boy and their second. . . Two new teachers teach-ers have recently been welcomed wel-comed into the Primary. They are LENORE BUREN and AR-DETH AR-DETH STRONG. Out at GEORGE CROWTH-ER'S CROWTH-ER'S in Holladay there was a bustle of activity last week for daughter BETTY was married to LE ROY JACKMAN in the LDS Temple and a home reception recep-tion honored them on Wednesday Wednes-day evening.
