Show AROUND THE CORNER IN SUGAR HOUSE WITH THE EDITOR OUR BEST WISHES go to Mayor Glade, his wife and family fam-ily this week. The mayor is home from the hospital, and all Sugarites have been wishing him a quick recovery. The mayor and his family must be very proud of the fine tributes paid their son and brother, Dr. Fred Glade, who recently passed away. Sugar House is honored to have such a splendid family in its midst. GADABOUT is the word for Al Brain, well known East Mill Crocker. Not Long ago, we talked to Al over at the Sugar House post office, then two days ater we received a short note from him from California,.. telling ..about "basking in the sun," atad the day after that we met him again in the post office . . . complete with a sun tan! Al, by the way, is a cousin of Bud, the haberdasher. IT WAS GOOD to see our Sugar House legislators in action ac-tion this week up at the Capitol building. We talked with Lee Dalebout, Charles Romney and Merrill Davis in the House; and Elias Day and Lorenzo Elggren in the Senate. They're doing a great job. TALKING ABOUT the legislature, le-gislature, it has also been a pleasure to meet many of the fellows from the so-called "cow counties." Most of them are combination business men, stock raisers or farmers, and law makers. They add a lot of good experience to the legislature. IN SPITE OF all the confusion, con-fusion, we have a feeling that the current legislature will keep the prison site as a state park, with the exception of 30 acres for the Southeast High School. Sen. Elias Day .correctly labeled the state park when he said this week that is was one of Utah's "greatest assets." |
