Show Post Office Receipts Take Big Jump Gaining more than one-third receipts of 1939, the Sugar House Post Office did a $10,838.72 business busi-ness during December 1940, according ac-cording to figures compiled at the local station. 1939 receipts were $8696. 79. Cecil A. Crockwell, superintendent, superin-tendent, stated tliat the money represents sales in stamps, registered reg-istered mail, money orders and C. O. D. The increase' is due to having better parking space available as r.'.any people from the Salt Lake business area find it more convenient to drive out to Sugar House and park conveniently near the post office and dispatch their business in a hurry. New businesses busi-nesses in the district have added share to the increase. Extra help was required to carry car-ry on Christmas rush business, Mr. Crockwell said, with 50 extra ex-tra being on the payrolls. The new post office building is a credit to the district and it was with the thought of convenience in mind that the potoffice was built at its present location, Mr. Crockwell stated. . |
