Show Lathe Worker, 90, Marks No Time Lost in Year BELOIT, WIS. It's something to be able to operate a high-speed lathe for a year with no "time-lost" accidents, especially for a 90-year-old worker. But that's just the beginning of Edgar Ardean Ballou's record. He has just completed his eighty-first year of self-support, and he's still going strong six days a week at the Fairbanks Morse plant here, and keeping up with the rest of the "youngsters." Ballou has never been late for work in 81 years, has good eyesight and still enjoys his work. Fellow workers thought this record rec-ord was worthy of a surprise party recently to help their oldest employee em-ployee celebrate his anniversary. |
