Show NOTES FROM WASHINGTON Secretary of Interior announced announc-ed this week a new governmental governmen-tal policy for leasing summer home sites at irrigation reservoirs reser-voirs in the West under the control con-trol of the Bureau of Reclamation. Reclama-tion. Desirable cabin sites exist on the borders of many reservoirs, on land withdrawn of purchased by the United States and placed under the control of the Department Depart-ment of the Interion for protection protec-tion or for future enlargement of the storage basin. Under the new regulations these are now available for lease by individual lessees. Areas for summer homes are set aside at these man-made lakes in accordance with recreational development master plans established estab-lished for each area and approved approv-ed by experts of the National Park Service. These sites consist of small lots deemed adequate for the purpose. When a person has selected a lot he will issued a term lease for the area which will grant him exclusive ex-clusive use to stated restrictions. The annual rental fee will vary from $10 to $25 a year depending on its location and the facilities made available. |
