J. Millard Tawes, Maryland state comtroller, has just lost all use of his gas rations coupons for a year because he used a state-owned car to go from Crisfield, Mary, land, to attend his son's wedding at Camp Wheeler, Georgia. He has transfered the title of his private pri-vate car to his wife, She will be allowed an "A" card. It was some of Taws political friends who caus ed the arrest. Truly the way of the transgresser is hard, even if he belongs to a supposedly strong political party. The theoretic professors are beting be-ting given new jobs in the new Ideal, their places on the OPA has been filled with businessmen who have had practical experience. Of course, these theorists are better taken care of by a sympathetic government, and they have been given jobs where their theories will not gum up the nation's war efforts. Some one made a mistake and the American public are going to have another registration ' period for the priviledge of securing ration ra-tion book No. 4. The IWW's have discovered that book No. 3 has no ration stamps which will take the place of the blue stamps.
