Roy Garton holds star spot in bowling news this week, having performed the feat of a lifetime when he rolled a perfect game at the Southeast, Saturday night. He and Orval Ames were having a little friendly practice session when Roy found the grove and pounded the 1-3 pocket for 12 straight strikes without even a wobble until the 7 pin hestitated just a second on the last throw. Spectators said Roy's knees didn't even tremble, and he took his 300 like a veteran. His game is noteworthy for being the first at the Southeast in two years, and the eighth rolled since the opening open-ing of the alleys in 1938. |
