Show 3rd Presbyterian Church A class in the ''Meaning of the Christian Life and of membership in the Church" has been organized organiz-ed for young people at the Third Church. These boys and girls will attend the services at 11 o'clock every Sunday morning for a number of weeks before being gathered into a separate group. The pastor is also offering certificates cer-tificates of attendance oo all other young people attending at least six out of the eight weeks begining Sunday, January 18. Honorable mention will be made of all who attend four or five services ser-vices during the same period. Special talks to youth and their elders will be given at the sermon ser-mon period during these weeks. On Sunday, January 25, Elders from the First and Westminster Presbyterian churches are invited to be present in our service at 11 o'clock. This is an activity plannned by the Presbyterian Elders El-ders Association of the city. On Sunday evening, January 18, members of troop committees of our four Presbyterian Scout Troops at Third Church met at the ' home of Mr. Emil Nyman to plan activities of Scouts for the months ahead. The Women's organizations have been busy. At a recent meeting of the Ladies' Aid Society, So-ciety, Mrs. Charles Jack reviewed review-ed the new book of Mrs. Lincoln Barker, "Yesterday Today" and at the Jessie Lee Ellis' Society meeting Mrs. P. L. Stevenson presented the topic a study on "Christian Roota in Democracy." The Woman's Missionary Society will meet on Tuesday, January 27, with place to be announced. The Senior Christian Endeavor-ers Endeavor-ers are meeting these Sunday evenings in the homes of the members, A young Peoples' Orchestra Or-chestra is meeting on Sunday evenings in the church at six o'clock. Sunday School is at 9:45 o'clock Sunday with classes for young and old. You are welcome. The church is located at the corner cor-ner of 11th East and 17th South. Ladies of Third Church will meet for Red Cross sewing at the Sugar House Library each week and Beginning on a Tuesday Tues-day soon to be assigned. The hours will be from 10 A. M. until un-til 2 p. m. |
