Show State Health Report Reports from local health officers of-ficers throughout the State for the week ending January 16, 1942 showed a substantial decrease in the number of cases of communi- cable diseases as compared with the previous week. The total number num-ber of cases reported was 549 as compared with 676 for the week ending January 9, 1942. There was a reduction in the number of cases of chickenpox, influenza, measles, mumps, pneumonia, pne-umonia, and whooping cough. Twenty-six cases of scarlet fever fev-er were reported for the week as compared with 21 for the previous. prev-ious. There was quite a substantial increase in the number of cases of venereal disease. Twenty-six cases of syphilis was reported as against 11 case reported for the previous week and 7 cases of gonorrhea as compared with 5 for the previous pre-vious week. r One ases of typhoid fever was reported from Salt Lake City The patient is an adult and it was suggested by the attending physician phy-sician that the infection may have been acquired outside of the State. Ogden reports one case ep-demic ep-demic meningitis; the patient is a girl 8 years of age. |
