Show bcoheld Reservoir Restocked Restocking operations of the recently treated waters of Scofield Reservoir in Carbon County will get under way by late next month, department of fish and game spokesmen noted today. The change from the early 1959 stocking date anticipated was brought about by the arrival of 600,000. kokanee salmon eggs from commercial sources in the state of Washington. Wash-ington. These eggs are currently undergoing hatching operations in the department's Scott Ave. hatchery. The fish will be liberated as they reach ''fry" -size, probably by mid-November. Rainbow trout, also to be stocked in the reservoir, will be planted early next spring as the eggs taken during the winter rainbow spawning are processed and reach fingerling size. Waters in Scofield Reservoir will be closeel to fishing through 1959. |
