Show Tel. Facilities Modernized At Bryce Canyon Work began this - week ' on a $50,000 telephone exchange at Bryce Canyon will be the beginning of construction on a new dial telephone building. The building will be of concrete block construction and will house dial equipment to serve the busines and residential requirements at Bryce Canyon as well as tht nearby airport. Present plans call for the new service will be placed in operation operat-ion late next spring. DDT Construction Company was awardtd the contract to erect the new building, according to E. C. Aarberg, Vice President and General Manager for the Telephone Company. In order to provide one and two party service to all customers cus-tomers in the area substantial additions to the existing lines will be made, Mr. Aaberg f3ai It is anticipated that approximately 45 new customers cus-tomers will be added when the dial system is placed in service. New seven digit telephone numbers beginning with the prefix TErrace 4. will be as- , signed to all customers in the new exchange. Business functions funct-ions will be handled through the Company Manager at Panguitch. Customers wishing to place long distance calls or requiring operator assistance may do so by dialing '0". Long distance operators in Richfield will also serve the |
