Dishwashers which wash and dry dishes to true cleanliness ;lve the housewife time to be a idy of leisure. It enables her to enjoy her family or take up new hobbies such as gardening, sewing or decorating. Extra hours gained also give her time to do other household tasks. In a 30-da- y study by Ohio State University comparing dishwash-ing habits of women who used dishwashers versus those who did not, it was discovered that: 1. The bacterial count on plates and other utensils were signi-ficantly lower for those washed by dishwasher than those washed by hand. Women who own and use dishwashers be Heve this helps cut down colds and infections and, of course, doctor bills. 2. The test also revealed that dishwashing time was cut ap proximately in half. The aver age woman spends more than eight hours a week clearing-u- p and, washing dishes. A savings of four hours a week means she feels less tired, and is able to enjoy herself more. 3. Another important feature is the decrease in breakage. Breakage of dishes during the hand-washin- g test amounted to approximately 11 pieces with a dishwasher this was virtually eliminated. Today, Mrs. America can be a lady of leisure with well-ke- pt hands and nails when she has that relatively inexpensive ser-vant, the electric dishwasher, do the dishwashing chores 365 days. |
