Show Day throughout the unincorporated unincor-porated area of Salt Lake .County, Utah, and hereby calls upon all public official, citizens, merchants, 'clubs, serv ice organizations, schools and churches to observe said Week and Day. in an appropriate appro-priate manner to the end that accidents involving bi cycles may be prevented and that young bicycle riders particularly par-ticularly may learn and observe ob-serve the rules of safety in the use and operation of their bicycles. Gundersen, Chairman ATTEST: Alvin Keddington, Clerk, PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the steady growth of population in Salt Lake County has resulted in the development of new residential, resi-dential, commercial and industrial in-dustrial areas and brought about the construction of necessary roads and highways high-ways connecting with existing exist-ing thoroughfares over which travel growing numbers of vericles including children on bicycles, and WHEREAS, this mounting traffic has multiplied the risks of accidents Involving these young bicyclists and it is essential that every reasonable rea-sonable step be taken to protect pro-tect them and secure observance obser-vance of the rules of safety by them and the public generally. gen-erally. NOW, THEREFORE THE BOARD of County Commissioners Commis-sioners of Salt Lake County, State of Utah, does hereby proclaim the week of April 20 to 26, 1958, as Bicycle Safety Week and Saturday, April 26th as Bicycle Safety |
