Layers of whole crispy sal tine crackers alternated with cheese slices, corn and onion rings are combined into a single "meal in itself" that's simple to make and simply delicious! Add a quick tossed green salad, and dinner's all ready. Here's how: Crimpy Corn-Cheese Bake 18 Krispy Saltine Crackers 4 eggs, beaten 1 12-oz. vacuum-packed can 2 73 cups milk whole kernel corn l1. teaspoons salt 2 medium onions, thinly slier 1 Vi teaspoon pepper 1 6-oz. package sliced process ChiU sauce American cheese Heat oven to 350 F. (moderate oven). Arrange 12 crackers over the bottom of a 12-inch by G'-inch by 2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle one-fourth of the corn over crackers. Cover with one-fourth of th onion rings, then with a layer of the cheese slices. Repeat each layer three additional times, beginning with 12 crackers. Combiat eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over top of final layer. Set In a pan of hot water and bake at ."0 F. for 1 hour. Garnish wiUi parsley sprigs. Cut into squares, and serve with chili sauce. Makes , 6 to 8 servings. |
