Church will hold its Quarterly Stake Conference May 31 and June 1st General ' sessions are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the Cottonwood 3rd Ward Chapel. A member of the Church Educational Edu-cational Department will be the speaker. The Stake Presidency Presi-dency will preside over the meetings. The evening session will be conducted by the Stake M.I.A. and will be designated as "Swarm Night" for the Bee Hive Girls of the Stake. , The Relief Society organizations organi-zations of the wards of the Cottonwood Stake will hold their closing socials this week, A Stake dance will be held each month, with a different ward being responsible each month. There will be an orchestra, orch-estra, decorations and refreshments. refresh-ments. The first dance will be held sometime the latter part of June. On June 27th the Stake YWMIA will sponsor a dinner for all girls who have earned individual awards and their mothers. They will honor girls who have 100 attendance or outstanding achievementt-. It will be held in the Cottonwood 3rd Ward Chapel. Max C. Winward's Sunday School Class went on a conyon outing last week. Several of the girls wandered away but managed to find their way, with nothing more than a few bumps and bruises to remind them of their escapade. Howard Johnson was reunited re-united with his wife after three A Cottonwood 3rd Ward carnival will be held June 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the ward chapel. Jack Mell's Sunday School class of the Cottonwood 4th Ward enjoyed a water skiing . party Saturday, lay 21th. Karen Cheney was chosen as exchange student to Germany from Granite High. She will leave June Sth. Her Mutual class is feting her with a farewell fare-well party the evening of May 29th. Janice Kammerth and Randy Turpin have announced their plans to wed in the near future. Bonnie Gilham and Ann Turpin Tur-pin have been awarded scholarships scholar-ships to Carel's Beauty School in Sugar House. Training will begin June 1. Robert Stackman's wife, who has been hospitalized with pneumonia for the past three , weeks, returned home Sunday. Jerry VanOrman will be leaving for a mission in France shortly. 1 The Stake Youth Chorus will meet on the first and third Wednesday of eaoh month at 0:30 p.m. This was previously held on Monday. Grant Miller was installed as Superintendent of the Ward MIA. in Cottonwood 2nd. Also Dick Davis of Cottonwood Cotton-wood 2nd was installed as Scout Master. Carol Barnes was installed in the Cottonwood 2nd Primary. Diane Pederson and Gregg Thomas of the Cottonwood 2nd will be married June 9th. On Wednesday, May 28th, the MIA of the Cottonwood 2nd Ward enjoyed a box lunch social at Fairmont Park. The Cottonwood 2nd Ward has divided into several small groups and are having neighborhood neigh-borhood parties to raise money to build a new ward chapel. Stake YWMIA Activity Counselor Wilma Barr is leaving leav-ing for California shortly to attend son Eddie's wedding the middle of June. Saturday, May 24th, the Aaronic Priesthood group, accompanied by the Bishop of the Cottonwood 3rd Ward went to Utah Lake water skiing. |
