Show FORMER MAYOR OF ROOSEVELT DIES AT HOME MONDAY ONE OP ROOSEVEL TS PIONEER AND HONORED CITIZENS SU TO TILE THE DREAD OF CANCER albin birch one ot of Roosevel ts best known and honored citizens beloved by all who knew him passed to his eternal reward on monday evening march 30 at p m after quaking a losing fight with dreaded cancer only recently he returned from salt lake city here chere he received treatment and appeared considerably bouyea up by the hopes of relief from the dread disease and was planning of living on a poultry farm giving up the active management ot of his business interests in roosevelt where for several years he ran a furniture store the deceased who was held in high regard by all who know him for his sterling qualities was born dec 23 1869 at sweden and came to the united states landing at new york in 1891 he was married to miss olga oiga habersat in 1890 he was a first class mechanic in 1903 he moved to denver to improve his failing health and on hearing of the advantages of the uintah basin came here at the 0 opening p of the reservation and settled on a homestead east of town in 1906 he came to the new town 04 0 roosevelt and has been active in iii its progress and development serving her at all times and in nii ml ay y capacities pa cities mr air birch was elected mayor ot of roosevelt in 1921 and served two years and wag as also a member ot of the city council ile he was a member of the board or governors of the roosevelt commercial club honesty was one of his outstanding characteristics and it is said r aid of him that he would rather slitter loss than cause others to lose besides his widow he Is 1 survived by three children axel A 24 alice 14 and elmer it 6 all of roosevelt funeral services will be held at the roosevelt hall thursday april 2 at 11 a m |
