Show B.P.VV. Honors RHS, Alterra Senior Girls A social event of singular beauty was the candlelight tea at the Clair Ashton residence Monday evening, May 15, honoring honor-ing the senior girls of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt and Alterra high schools. Sponsored by the Roosevelt Business and Professional Women's Wom-en's club, the elaborate affair was under the direction of Mrs. Ashton, Mrs. Wanda Riggle, and Mrs. Elva McLea, assisted by Mrs. Bee Jordan and Mrs. Blanche Murphy. A charming pink and orchid color scheme was followed throughout the house by the use of snapdragons and tulips. The orchid and pink motif was further fur-ther developed in the dining room where the tea table was beautifully arranged with an exquisite ex-quisite white lace cloth centered with a low crystal bowl of orchid or-chid snap dragons and pink tulips. tul-ips. Lighted pink tapers in crystal crys-tal holders illuminated the setting. set-ting. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Mabel C. Head, Mrs. Adelyn Logan, Mrs. Shirley Murdock, Mrs. Virginia Fitzgerald, Fitzger-ald, Mrs. Karma Dee Miller, and Mrs. Afton Harrison. Assisting in receiving the guests were Mrs. Jessie Orser, ; Mrs. Myrtle Lambert, Mra. Lur-rine Lur-rine Blaine, and Mrs, Mollie Stenberg1, Soft background music throughout the evening, featured piano selections by Mrs. Evelyn Schmiett, and Clyde Johnson; vocal selections by Mrs. Vola Hancock and Robert Paulson; and a trombone solo by Jay Pond, accompanied by Mrs. Pond. Approximately a hundred guests called during the evening. ' Mr. and Mrs. Francis Crozier, of Neola, visited Saturday with the Wilbur Parrishes. . Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shisler motored to Vernal Sunday to visit Mr. Shisler's sister, Mrs. Straussie Birchell. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Stanley and family of Park City, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stanley. Cloyd Wiscombe, Stephen Eldredge El-dredge and Lynn Bracken attended at-tended the track meet held Monday Mon-day in Price. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch and family went to Jensen, Sunday, to spend Mother's Day with Mr. Hatch's mother, Mrs. Zinnia Zin-nia Murray. Mark Angus, a BYU student, spent Mother's Day with his mother, Mrs. Leland Angus. Relief Society officers, Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, Maude Anderson, Ellen Bracken, Julia Kettle, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Millie Hatch, prepared pre-pared a chicken supper Friday night for the Relief Society, ward teachers, and their partners. part-ners. Barbara Hullinger, JoAnn Todd and Marie Eldredge did the serving. Mrs. Osa Hullinger had charge of the program. Mrs. Ammon Workman' has been confined to her bed with flu for the last two weeks. Ballard grade students participated parti-cipated Friday at the Ft. Duchesne Du-chesne Field Day events. The young students also went to Vernal Wednesday. Squire Mangum was in charge of a Mother's Day program presented pre-sented in Sunday School. Mrs. Vida Betts and Mr. Mangum were readers; Carolyn Ross sang "Mother Macree", and a girls chorus sang "Joseph Smith's First Prayer." Nine mothers participated in the program. pro-gram.
