Show Utah Turkey Show Dates Are December 8 & 9 With the third annual Utah Turkey Show scheduled for December De-cember 8 and 9 at the New-house New-house hotel, Salt Lake City, turkey growers all over the state are eyeing their flocks and their processed birds for prospective entries that will compete for trophies and cash awards in the dressed classes. According to R. Harvey Das-trup, Das-trup, Richfield, show chairman, and Marion Olsen, Paradise, show manager, this year's show will be limited to dressed birds. Deadline on entries is set for December 1. All judging and displaying will be in the New-house New-house hotel. "We are planning this show to appeal to consumers, turkey breeders, hatchers, and growers, who are interested in the turkey industry," said Mr. Dastrup. "We find that turkey is becoming becom-ing readily accepted as a qual- ity meat for year around eating. The turkey show gives the industry in-dustry a chance to amplify this by showing the public the latest lat-est methods of marketing and cooking turkey." Mr. Dastrup said that demonstrations demon-strations will be presented to show how turkeys are easily cut into meal-size portions for cooking and for wrapping for freezing. Also, latest methods of cooking turkeys, both whole and cut up, will be demonstrated. |
