Show Randlett By Mrs. Viola Jensen P-TA Election The Avalon School P-TA meeting meet-ing was held thursday evening at the school house. Mrs. Marion Taylor was elected president and Mrs. Wallace Tabbee of Ouray first vice-president. The Relief Sociey met early Tuesday and quilted two baby quilts- for Mrs. Elna Harris. I PINK - BLUE SHOWER I Mrs. Zilpha Wall and Mrs. Jewell Wall were hostesses Tuesday afternoon at a Pink and Blue shower given in honor of Mrs. Elna Harris. Games were played under the direction of Mrs. Zilpha Wall. Delicious refreshments re-freshments ' were served to twenty guests. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Lewis attended dance practice in Roosevelt Wednesday evening. The Leota and Randlett Primary Prim-ary preparation meeting was held' Wednesday evening at the Randlett ward house. Mrs. Viola Jensen gave the lesson. - "What We Want for Our Children." The Relief Society Singing Mothers met at the ward house Wednesday evening to practice. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ballard of Denver, Colorado were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Dudley. i Mrs. Mable Nebeker attended an excursion class at the U. S. j A C at Logan during the week, j Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mann of i Vernal and Mr. and Mrs. John ! Young, of Randlett visited in. Heber Wednesday. j Mrs. Mary Young and Mrs. ' Venice. Durfee attended a special, School lunch meeting in Naples! Thursday afternoon. I The Avalon school teachers! spent Thursday afternoon taking school census. Visitors at the Sheldon Lewis j home tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Valle Lewis and Nina Clark, Donna Anderson and Mrs. Leita Pine and daughter, Gloria Jean. Mr. and Mrs. Van Jensen and daughter Lydia arrived here from Jacksonville, North Carolina Carol-ina where Mr. Jensen was serving serv-ing in the Army. The Jensens are planning on making their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Pickup and family of Tule Lake. Calif, are visitors at the home of Mrs. Ada Pickup. Mr. and Mrs. Richard O'Niel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chandler and daughters of Price are visiting relatives here. v Mrs. Marion Shelton of Roosevelt Ro-osevelt spent the weekend visiting visit-ing her parents. William Harris, Neldon Wall and Stanley Jensen of Salt Lake City were weekend visitors here. Visitors at Sunday School were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse G. Brough of Whiterocks, Mrs. Louise Pickup of Tule Lake, Calif., Mrs. Thora O'Neil and Mrs. Leah Chandler of Price. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McK.ee are the proud parents of a baby girl born Saturday at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt hospital. Mrs. Viola Jensen and three daughters, Marian, Irene, and Joyce attended sacrament meet, ing in Leota ward Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Wall Jr. and family of Indio. California were visitors here during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Harris moved Saturday into the home they purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Wall Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brough have moved to Roosevelt where Mrs. Brough is employed at the telephone office. The United States was tremendously tre-mendously excited in 1835 by a series of articles in the New York Sun, the first penny newspaper, news-paper, describing life on the moon as seen through a tremendously tre-mendously powerful telescope. The articles described the inhabitants, in-habitants, bat-like men and women, indetail. The author later explained that he intended intend-ed the story as satire. |
