Show Bertha Angus Violet Gentry loka Scouts Win Scout Troop 264 of loka, won top honors at the 1956 Scout District Dis-trict Scout Circus, held in Roosevelt, Roose-velt, Feb. 15. Excellent preparation prepara-tion and Scout spirit in the National Na-tional Onward for God and My Country program. They had 122 points and nearest to them was 66 points. Scouts are Alton D. Percival, Bart Killian, Jim Drollinger, Drollin-ger, Gary Zobell, Virgil Namoki, Jimmy Lemon, Mardell Brinker-hoff Brinker-hoff and Charles Richens. Scoutmaster Scout-master is Paul Foote. Troop committee com-mittee members are Clyde Killian, Tom Melburn and James Zobell. Mrs. Etta Webb received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. A 1 vina Johnson at Centralia, Wash. She went to Ogden and from there was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Roy French to Washington Wash-ington to attend the funeral. She returned home the latter part of the week. MIA officers entertained with a Valentine party Tuesday night in the ward hall. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday were Gary Zobell. and Bart Killian, deacons, and Bradley Cloward. Gloria Robison and Ralph Dart were graduated from Primary in meeting Sunday. The members of the Thursday Club met at the home of Mrs. Berniece Houeter, Feb. 16. After spending a pleasant afternoon, delicious de-licious refreshments were served by the hostess to Mrs. Olive Sorensen, Sor-ensen, Mrs. Lucy Edwards, Mrs. Edith Gentry, Mrs.. Sarah Brokaw and Mrs. Mattie Mortensen. Mrs. Afton Johnson of Myton was a special guest. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Swett and children of Vernal, spent Saturday Satur-day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson. Visitors at the home of Mrs. Olive' Sorensen last week were Mrs. Dick Fausett of Upalco, and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Sorensen and children of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Benson of Orderville were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gentry, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Webb and family of Artesia were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Webb and Mr. and Mrs, James Lloyd last week. Mr. and Mrs. Buss Warr and children of Salt Lake, spent the weekend on their farm. The Warrs expect to move back to their farm in the late spring. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dart of Duchesne called at the O. A. Dart farm last week. WiUis was released re-leased from the' Navy recently. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Ames of Salt Lake City are guests of their father, James Ames, this week. Wesley and Harold Anderson made a trip to Ogden and Salt Lake' last week. While in Salt Lake they visited their uncle, John Haugland, and report he is feeling fine and enjoying his home in Salt Lake. |
