Show Ethel Beebe DUP Has Meeting The ' Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their February meeting meet-ing at the home of Mrs. Olive Miles of Mt. Emmons Wednesday. The lesson was given by Francis Allred on the "Life' History of Minnie Brown," and' a delicious lunch was served by Mrs., Miles to Mrs. Lola Jones, Mrs. Verna Allred, Mrs. Francis Allred, Mrs. Emma Anderson, Mrs. Clara Young and Mrs.. Edna Hartman. Mr. and Mrs. Linford Maxfield, their son, Norman, and Mrs. Mary Carroll visited recently in Salt Lake City. Don Carroll, who has been working in Salt Lake' City, returned home with them. William Fieldsted of Boneta was in Altonah on business Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Beebe of Salem visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe Feb'. 12. Mr. and Mrs. iBoyd Young and baby of Rangely spent a few days with her father. Milton Anderson. ReX Fowler is employed at the REA office at Altamont. RELIEF SOCIETY HAS WORK MEETING The Altonah Ward Relief Society So-ciety held its work meeting Feb. 14. They worked on a quilt for the Relief Society, Pot Luck lunch was served. Edgar Miles' of Mt. Emmons was transacting business here Feb. 14. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks visited in Ogden and Salt Lake City over the weekend. A QUILTING PARTY Mrs. Elva Snyder held a quilting quilt-ing party at her home Feb. 15. Ladies present were Mrs. Lillie Alexander of Mt. Home, Mrs, Jennie Jen-nie Brotherson of Boneta, Mrs. Arlene Potts of Duchesne, Mrs. Ethel Fisher, Mrs. Mary Dump, Mrs. .Arda Ames, Mrs. Florence Jessen, Mrs. Lucy Jacobson, Mrs. Bert Fowler and Mrs. Vivian weeks. A tiielicious lunch was served. They completed a very beautiful Ring quilt. Ruby Weeks spent the' weekend with her sister, Florence, in Salt Lake City. She came home Sunday. Sun-day. A large crowd from Altonah attended the basketball game between be-tween Union and Altamont at the Union High gym last Friday. It seems like the mumps are geting quite a few of the older people of our ward. Mrs. Albert (Tex) Rochel has them now, and is quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. George Berrett, Jr. and family of Roosevelt spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Fen-ton Fen-ton Powell. Gerald Jacobson accompanied a group of men from this area on a business trip to Rangely, Colo., I Feb. 18th. |
