Show 77iis Week's RECIPE . . . The following Chinese Chew Ball recipe makes a delicious cooky you will want to add to your main recipe file. This is a favorite of Mrs. Gordon Harmston and Mrs. Roe McDonald, and has been requested by club members. CHINESE CHEW BALLS cup flour ltsp. baking powder '4tsp. salt 2 eggs 1 cup white sugar 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup chopped dates Sift flour and measure. Add baking powder and salt and sift again. Beat eggs until light. Add sugar and dry ingredients. Add nuts and dates. Press into'greased 8"- by 8" pan and bake at 325 for 30 minutes, stirring at ten minute intervals to keep edges from becoming crusty. Remove from oven and drop spoonfuls on waxed paper. Cool slightly and shape into balls. Roll in powdered sugar and store in tin box. These will stay fresh a long .time and make a wonderful, party snack. |
