Show Dairy Breeders Hame Eoka Ihn Hew Chairman John R. Lemon, of Ioke, last Friday, Dec. 5, was elected chairman of the Artificial Breeding Breed-ing Association for Duchesne County, as milk men from the county met at the Roosevelt Stake House to reorganize and hear two speakers. Wilford Robinson, Hi-Land Dairy Co. manager in the Basin, and a Mr. Olsen (first name not available), fieldman . for the Cache Valley Artificial Breeders Assn., addressed the meeting. Mr. Robinson traced the growth of grade A milk in the Basin and complimented and encour aged the producers to continue improving their operations. He told how the local market had broken Utah bounds and was now reaching into Colorado and New Mexico. Mr. Olsen presented some slides on the sires in service at Hyde Park where the semen is produced that is used locally. He i cautioned dairymen to keen cows in dry barns and to be sure they are not calling the in-seminator in-seminator too soon or too late The idea has reduced costs of breeding dairy cattle, he pointed out. Other members of the board include Richard Olsen, Neola. secretary; Leland Angus, Gordon Gor-don Evans, James Harrfblin. Wm Wedig, Orval Gillan, Louis Jensen Jen-sen and Elmer Yergensen, directors. |
