Show Katherine L. Betts WHITEROCKS One of the most recent correspondents cor-respondents for the Roosevelt Standard is' Mrs. Katherine Langley Betts, who writes the news from Whiterocks. She joined the ranks of our correspondents corres-pondents October 20, 1950.. She has resided in Whiterocks for nine years, where she came as a home economics teacher for the Uintah Indian school in 1937. Mrs. Betts was born March 5, 1903 at Claremore. Oklahoma, Oklaho-ma, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Langley. She attended attend-ed public schools there and also Oklahoma A. and M. college. She is a member of the Christian Chris-tian church. Since marrying Al Betts, of Whiterocks, Mrs. Betts occupies her time as a homemaker, but prior to that time was a home-making home-making instructor at the Uintah Uin-tah Indian school. She also taught homemaklng in Vinita, Oklahoma, and was an instructor instruct-or in the Carter Seminary for girls at Ardmore, Oklahoma. Mrs. Betts is a member of the Roosevelt B.P.W. club and also of the American Association Associa-tion of University Women of Oklahoma. She has held the office of-fice of vice-president in both organizations, She considers Uintah county's coun-ty's greatest present asset its livestock industry, and states that, in her opinion, Uintah county's greatest need is more industries to provide more employment. |
