His son, Ralph, who has been working in California, Cal-ifornia, has passed his pre-induc-tion examinations for military service and is awaiting his call. I Mr. and Mrs. Giles Ortscheid and family, who have been living liv-ing at Roosevelt for some time have moved into their new home at Alterra. Mr. Ortscheid is employed at the Ute Tribal oil wells. Mrs. Charles Bingham spent several days in Salt Lake City this week to be near her husband, hus-band, who was operated on for gall stones Wednesday. I Mr. and Mrs. Willie Smith left during the week for Tuscon, j Arizona, where they expect to spend the winter because of Mr. Smith's health. Ray Betts is stationed with the Army in Washington, and , Leonard Betts is stationed at i Ft. Riley, Kansas. Both are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Betts. Lynn McClure and Darrell McMullin made a trip to Price last Tuesday for a load of coal. John H. Cook enjoyed a short visit in Salt Lake City last week. He consulted a doctor doc-tor while there. Miss Lorraine Hullinger, a student at the B.Y.U., Proyo, is home to spend the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Olen Perryman and Rev. Charles Ray made ' a business trip to . Salt Lake last . week. Mrs. E. C. Coston has been I on the sick list, and Mrs. Ernest Betts worked in her place Mon-I Mon-I day in the Alterra lunch room. The Irmen family has bought a home in Roosevelt. They will ' move in the near future. Miss Lawana Dillman, Mrs. Jennie Haddock and daughter, Lettie, Mrs. Dorothy McClough and Mrs. Frank McClure and Bob Irmen spent Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston. Dainty refreshments re-freshments were served. A wedding dance for Mr. and .Mrs. Lynn Ross, of Vernal, was 'held at the R. W. Ranch last week. Norman Taylor reported for his pre-induction examination at Salt Lake City, Dec. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Tippetts and family have moved into the home of Mrs. Wilma Bing-ham Bing-ham at Alterra. Lynn Rasmussen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Rasmussen, ' . -who is employed at Salt Lake City, visited his parents Friday. He was accompanied by two friends from Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haws, who have been living in Roosevelt for some time, have moved to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Haws was formerly Lucille Betts. Orlan Cook is enjoying - his missionary work in South Carolina, Caro-lina, for the L.D.S. church. He is in practically the same place his father, John H. Cook, labored lab-ored as a missionary 45 years ago. Ballard ward was well represented rep-resented at Union and Priesthood Priest-hood meetingsc held at the Roosevelt stake house, Dec. 17. |
