That the Bill of Rights and the Constitution have stood the test of time is a tribute to the greatness of the men who authored them. Twenty-one years ago, another group of courageous men assembled in Draper, Utah to set down the policies of a new association known as "The Draper Egg Producers Association." The creed adopted was a wise one. It called for directors to serve without pay in order to establish a Board of Directors vitally interested in the advancement of the entire poultry industry. It specified that profits would be returned as soon as possible to the farms and not held as working capital in the cooperative. It set up one central plant to speed handling of poultry products and thus insure consistently higher quality. It was also agreed that honesty and fair dealing would be the only binding ties; there would be no written writ-ten contracts. Overall, it was a plan that guaranteed the best possible return for poultry products and assured the membership supplies at reasonable prices. - ' This now-famous policy has been jealously . guarded since its inception 21 years ago by the Association's President, A. R. Mickelsen. It is a policy respected and admired by each of. the Association's 4,500 members. It is a policy that will endure! If you would like to share in the many' benefits that come from membership in the Draper Egg Producers Ass'n., see Vern Buchanan.
