Show Coal Company Will Give fining Scholarship At 'U' A scholarship in Coal Mining Engineering for study at the University Uni-versity of Utah is being offered again this year by United States Fuel Company, Mr. G. R. Watkins, general manager, announced today, j The scholarship covers a four-year four-year course leading to an engineering engi-neering dergee with payments at the rate of $500 per year, totaling $2,000 over the four year period. It begins with the 1955 fall quarter quar-ter at the University of Utah, but the successful applicant has the option of taking the first two courses at Carbon College. To the extent that circumstances may permit, the scholarship recipient will be offered work during summer sum-mer vacations at the company's mine. The scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating this spring and to high school graduates grad-uates who have completed their schooling since January 1, 1954. Sons of company employees who rank favorably with other candidates candi-dates will be given preference.
