Show HOPE FOR RECOVERY We of the Mt. Emmons ward wish a speedy recovery to Mrs. Edward Crosby, who has been confined con-fined to her home for several weeks due to a heart condition. The doctor advises plenty of rest. Mrs. Crosby was released recently as president of Mt. Emmons Relief Re-lief Society, in which position she has served well for several years. Barton Bennion went to Logan, Sunday, Sept. 11, preparatory to entering the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural College this fall. Earl Crosby and Glenn Case went to Salt Lake and Provo Monday Mon-day on business pertaining to en-tering en-tering the Brigham Young University. Univer-sity. Mr. and Mrs. F. Earl Case left Wednesday for Ogden, where they visited their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William De-Vries. De-Vries. They also visited Mr. Case's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Case. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Evans and family attended the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake, Saturday. Miss Katherine Hartman, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hartman, Hart-man, is in Salt Lake City at the Utah State Fair exhibiting her purebred Shorthorn calf. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hartman and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hartman with Cynthia and Randy, attended the fair Saturday. The Hartmans are exhibiting their purebred Milking Shorthorns. The BYU is beckoning Miss Gail Case, who will soon return for her sophomore year. Also planning to attend the Brigham Young University Univer-sity this year are: Max Brotherson, Leta Beckstead, Etholyn Burton, Dal Seeley, Caralyn Tew, Kent Remington and Curtis Dastrup. Soon to leave for the Utah State Agricultural' College are Marvin and Bernice Swasey. Marvin will be a sophomore this year. Miss Alta Ames will attend Snow College in Ephraim Utah; Harlan Hartman plans to enter the University of Utah, and Dee Farnsworth will attend Dixie College Col-lege in St. George. Mt. Emmons and Altamont sends their best wishes with the large number of their young people wro are leaving leav-ing for colleges and universities. Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell returned re-turned to Altamont for a weekend week-end visit. Mr. Boswell. is employed in Salt Lake City. Lawrence and Alma Young attended at-tended the Ice Follies in Salt Lake City, Friday. A. W. Sadler, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend visiting with his daughters and grandchildren here in Mt. Emmons and Altamont. Alta-mont. Mr. Sadler, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Barton Bennion and son were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mad-sen Mad-sen of Boneta and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion for Sunday dinner. A "Hello' dance was held at the Altamont High School Friday. This first dance of the school, year was enjoyed by the 7th to 12th grades. Rulon Skinner, Boy Scout Field Executive for the Duchesne District, Dis-trict, and his girl friend, Ruth Walters, enjoyed Sunday dinner with the Glen Mohlman family. TO DEDICATE SCHOOL Altamont High School, dedication dedica-tion will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. All parents, friends and relatives are invited to attend. A wonderful dedication program has been outlined. Francis J. Neitson, husband of our home economics teacher, Mrs. Eliza Neilson, is in the Veterans' Hospital in Salt Lake City for observation. ob-servation. The exact nature of his illness is not yet known and many X-rays and tests are being made. He will, be operated on some time this week. Mr. Neilson is a veteran veter-an of World War I. |
