Allred home Sept. 13, when their little daughter, Gwen, celebrated cele-brated her fifth birthday. Joining in the fun were fifteen guests, who enjoyed games and party refreshments. re-freshments. Many pretty gifts were opened by the honored guest. Mrs. Ray E. Dillman and Dr. Miles Allen attended a sister reunion re-union at the summer home of Mrs. Ruby Sutherland, at Mac's Inn in West Yellowstone last week. The Miles sisters enjoyed a wonderful visit. Joining with them also was Mrs. Ruth Lancaster, of Santa Ana, Calif.i Mr. and Mrs. Van Winterton, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Winterton, El-den El-den Winterton and Jean Goodrich attended the wedding reception of Mr. Winterton's niece, Bonita Huff, at Woodland, Wednesday night. Miss Marilyn Anderson left this week to represent Duchesne County Coun-ty in the "Miss Utah State Fair" contest. Finals will be held Saturday Satur-day night at the fair grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris will leave next weekend for Klamath Falls, Ore. to investigate living quarters. Mr. Harris is being transferred trans-ferred there through a promotion with the Indian Department, Civil Service. Sunday visitors at the Theron Leavitt residence were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Leavitt, of Henderson, Nevada, who were enroute to Chicago. Chi-cago. Theron and Gilbert are brothers. Weekend visitors in Roosevelt were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Robb, of Salt Lake City. Among students leaving this week to attend the Brigham Young University were Nancy Rockwood, Diane Nelson, Carol Memmott, Na-dene Na-dene Ottosan, Mark NieLson and Norman Hansen. Kenneth and Janice Anderton are enrolling at the USAC in Logan. Log-an. Miss JeNeal Pack left Sunday for Salt Lake City, and following an interview is now employed at the Firs.t Security Bank. Morgan Bryce and son, Bill, of San Diego, Calif., were guests last week at the home of Mr. Bryce's sister, Mrs. C. L. Ashton. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lewis, and children, Kathy and Kenny, of Tooele, were houseguests last weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harmston. Sunday Mrs. Lewis learned of the tragic news of the fatal injury of her brother, Frank White, whose truck went over an embankment. Visiting at the Wm. H. Ruppel, Jr. home from last Thursday to Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stewart and son, Brent. While here the Stewarts were extensively entertained at social events. Bert Gardner, manager of a Western Sportswear store in Pro-vo, Pro-vo, was a RooseveLt visitor last weekend. Miss Margie Scurlock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Scurlock, enrolled recently as a freshman student at the. Northwest Nazarene College at Nampa, Idaho. Her uncle, E. L. Fortune, of Pasadena, Calif., who had spent a week at the Scurlock home, took Miss Scurlock to Idaho, and then returned re-turned to Roosevelt for a longer visit with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Scurlock. An announcement received this week from the Garth Tietjens indicated in-dicated that they are elated over the arrival of a baby son, born Sept. 9, at Kanab, Utah, where the Tietjens are- now residing and operating a store. The little fellow weighed 5 lbs. 4 oz., and answers to "Roland L." This is the first boy for the Tietjens they have two daughters. |
