Show Long Imz Eksin Hesident Dies Following Illness Funeral services for Clarence A. Brown, 76, of Neola, will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10:45 in the Roosevelt stake house. Bishop Richard Olsen of the Neola ward will conduct the services. Mr. Brown died Monday, Sept. 19, in the St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City of a lingering illness. ill-ness. He was born Oct. 16, 1879 to Lewis H. and Nancy Ellis Brown of Cherokee, Kan., and on Dec. 10, 1901 married Nellie Wild Sampson at Denver, Colo. His early life was spent at Salida, Colo,, where he was forest ranger for several years. He moved to the Uintah 'Basin with his family fam-ily in 1913 where he settled at what was then known at Monarch. Mr. Brown was a great civic leader. He was instrumental in getting the first post office in Monarch. He was an ardent worker work-er for better roads and water systems in the Uintah Basin, and was tireless in his efforts to ac-(Continued ac-(Continued on Back Page) LONG TIME RESIDENT DIES. . . He is survived by his wife and four sons, Arthur W., Raymond S., Victor C. and Douglas. Doug-las. D., all of Roosevelt; 18 grandchildren; grand-children; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister, of Califor- nia. Burial' will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery, under the direction of Olpin Mortuary. |
