Show Korean Children Receive Roosevelt Help Interesting letters of gratitude for clothing sent from Roosevelt Roose-velt were received from Kor-i eans by Capt. Frank E. Mehner, who is located in Korea. Mrs. Mehner received the notes from her husband and brought them with her to Roosevelt last weekend, week-end, when she visited here. At the request of Capt. Mehner Meh-ner for children's clothing last winter, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Mrs. Lynn Poulson and Mrs. Roy Hall collected col-lected -many items of warm clothing for children and sent them to Capt. Mehner, who distributed dis-tributed them among needy Koreans. Kor-eans. Following are a few examples of the notes of gratefulness sent by the Korean people: "I thank to you for the gift of mercy and love. My heart was too full for words to express ex-press my thankness for the gift which was sent beyond the boundary of nation and races. "I believe that it is, God's gift bestowed to us. I will never I forget your mercy displayed for us. ! "And I pray to God to have; honorable peace as soon as possible pos-sible in Korea. We will build a beautiful country, remembering always your good will. "I pray to God day and night for you to have more luck. Yours sincerely, J PAK UM JON" j "I broken my heart when I saw my boy trambling for bitter bit-ter winter cold. "Now I am very happy to see my boy wearing warm clothing which you sent for my boy. "I will never forget your love and benefaction displayed for us. Yours sincerely, SIN BONG DO" |
