Show Directors Hamed By Ili-Land Dairy At Meeting A new director was chosen and two other directors were reelected re-elected during the annual meeting meet-ing of Hi-Land Dairy producers and directors held at the Hotel Utah, Starlite Roof Garneds, recently. Re-elected were Eugene Pace, Wanship, Summit County, and Russell Wall, Heber. Ernest Knight, of Woodland, Summit County, was elected to replace George L. Felton, Snyderville, Summit County. Over 200 producers and directors di-rectors from Utah, Summit, Wasatch, Duchesne, Emery and Uintah counties attended the meeting and luncheon and heard Bishop Joseph L. Wirthlin, presiding pre-siding bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints, warn the group to take a stand against "The use of substitutes sub-stitutes in dairy products." He also called the "needed tariffs for the protection against importations im-portations from abroad of dry milk and cheese." Louis R. Curtis, general manager, man-ager, reviewed the past year's activities and progress. Mr. Curtis Cur-tis pointed out that Hi-Land was the first dairy in the Salt Lake area to market the half gallon container and with the introduction of the new flat top plastic carton, Hi-Land will be able to offer consumers either eith-er choice of flat top or gable top cartons. Upon motion of Mr. Curtis, the group unaninmously approved ap-proved dairy policies of Agriculture Agri-culture Secretary Ezra Taft Benson. Ben-son. I Guests at the luncheon included includ-ed Merrill N. Warnick. of Pleasant Plea-sant Grove, recently elected I president of the American Dairy Association; Genevieve Allen, director, Utah Dairy Council, and Robert Montgomery, assistant assist-ant manager of the Roosevelt office of the Commercial Bank of Utah. |
