Show Elder John Longdon To Address LDS Conference Elder John Longdon, assistant to the Quorum of Twelve, has been assigned to preside over and address the quarterly conference of the Roosevelt stake next Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, May 21 and 22. Anthony I. Bently, Provo, will represent rep-resent the Brigham Young University Univer-sity at the conference. According to Hollis G. Hullinger, president of the stake, the opening open-ing session of the second conference confer-ence of 1955, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and will be in the form of a missionary training meeting.. At 8 o'clock, a general Melchizedek priesthood leadership meeting will conclude the Saturday Satur-day program, with general sessions set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Sun-day. The annual commencement exercises for the Union Seminary will be held at 8 o'clock Sunday evening. All sessions including the graduation will be at the Roosevelt Roose-velt stake center. Who Should Attend Expected to attend the missionary mission-ary training meeting at 6:30 are members of the stake presidency and clerk, high council, ward bishoprics bish-oprics and clerks, Melchizedek priesthood quorum presidencies, stake mission presidency and secretary, sec-retary, all stake and Indian missionaries, mis-sionaries, all stake executives of the MIA, Relief Society, Primary Association and Sunday School, and Seminary teachers. Burgener, stake music committee chairman, who will have some of his Union High School vocal students stu-dents on the program. Reports will be heard from foreign missionaries who have returned since the Fed-ruary Fed-ruary conference.. One vacancy exists ex-ists on the high council, which will be filled. This was created when Russell Robison was called into the Ioka bishopric. There may be other changes made in stake personnel, per-sonnel, but no announcement was made by the stake presidency. |
