Show Second Ward Will Visit Welfare Projects Aug. 17 According to Bishop E. J. Nixon, Nix-on, of the Roosevelt Second ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a special excursion ex-cursion to the various ward-sponsored ward-sponsored welfare projects is being planned for Friday, Aug. 17, to give the membership an opportunity to see what is being be-ing done to aid the church-wide welfare program. At 5 p. m. that day, members of the ward will meet at the stake chapel, where they will travel in a caravan to Independence, Indepen-dence, where they have a fine crop of alfalfa seed and grains, j From there they will go to the I Bert Swain farm, north of town, I where . more hay and grain U being grown, part of which will probably be in the shock. They j will then cross to the Louie j Galloway place to see their stacks of hay, and then travel to Cedarview, site of their pasture pas-ture land, and get acquainted with the livestock project that now includes about 40 head of cows and calves. At the conclusion of the excursion, ex-cursion, the membership will returnj to the city park, where they will join in a pot-luck supper sup-per and square dancing. All ward members and friends are invited to join in the activity, Bishop Nixon announced. |
