First Birthday The Lions club of My ton celebrated cel-ebrated the first anniversary of the club's organization Saturday Satur-day evening at the Presbyterian ; church. A large delegation of Lions and their ladies from the Roosevelt club were present to assist in the gala event. Presi- ! dent Floyd Lamb was in charge of the meeting. Following the regular business busi-ness session, a buffet supper was served by the Myton ladies of the Lions, the main course be-iug be-iug barbecued lamb, which was prepared by some of the members. mem-bers. About sixty members and guests were seated at long tables to enjoy the delicious food and the fe'aiety, with Toast master Floyd Ross ably assisted by Mr. Lawrell Jensen, president presi-dent of Roosevelt Lions. Homer P. Edwards, of Roosevelt Roos-evelt was honored by the presentation pres-entation of a Lions button denoting de-noting 20 years of service to the organization. A program furnished entertainment, enter-tainment, as follows: vocal solo, Dale Peterson, accompanied by Mrs. O. A. Dart; vocal solo, Lu Deen Anderson, accompanied by Carolyn Dennis; vocal solo, Grant Peel, accompanied by j Mrs. Dart; a toe dance number, I by. Miss Treva Ann Gabbert, of Roosevelt, and a tap dance by Miss LaRue Liddell. The year's club activities , were stressed in a report by . the secretary, Giles Wood. Special Spe-cial among these activities was the purchase of the city fire truck and assisting with the Christmas for the . kiddies. i I The L D S ward chapel was crowded Saturday evening with friends who came to extend greetings and good wishes to ! Robert Steven Hatch, who was honored by a farewell testimonial testimon-ial party. A program furnished I entertainment, and refreshments 'were served. Bob, as rie is called by all of his friends, left Satur-I Satur-I day night after the party, to enter the mission home in Salt Lake City, prior to being as I signed to the Northern States mission. , Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mori ill 'returned last week from a business busi-ness trip to Provo. They contemplate con-template moving to Provo in the near future, having sold their home to H. L. Crapo Felix Quintana returned Friday Fri-day evening from Saguache, Colo., where he was called by the sudden death of his sister-in-law, Peifecta Quintana, wife 'of Mike Quintana. She died Jan. 12 at the Monte Vista, Colorado, hospital and was buried Jan. 15 jat Saguache. Funeral services 'were conducted in the Saguache I Catholic church, with interment in the Hillside cemetery family Iplot. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Harris and Miss Edith Nell Preece attended at-tended the American Legion !and Auxiliary, District 5, party at Duchesne Saturday evening. Members of Altonah, Roosevelt, Vernal and Myton posts and units were guests of the Duchesne Du-chesne Post and Unit 22. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lott and Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish joined join-ed them after the Myton Lions party. I Max Peterson brought his wife and infant daughter from I the Roosevelt hospital Saturday. I Mrs. Peterson and baby will re- main with her mother, Mrs. Merrill Lisonbee, for a short time before returning to her 'home on the Lisonbee ranch. I Mr. and Mrs. George Funk and daughter, Joan, were din ner guests at the home of Mr, and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Sun-1 day.
