Show Work And Pleasure At Sunday School Stake and .jvard S u n d a y I school workers combined teach-' er training class and a social Thursday night at the ward house. The affair was conducted by Lawrence Ward, stake Sunday Sun-day school superintendent, with the lesson, "The Art of Ques- i tioning," presented by F, Robert Rob-ert Paulsen, RaNae Stevenson did tap dancing and Curtis Das-trup Das-trup played a trombone solo. Earl Case, teacher of the gospel gos-pel doctrine class in the Mt. Emmons Sunday " school, was presented with a book for perfect per-fect attendance during 1950. The serving of refreshments completed com-pleted the evening's entertainment. entertain-ment. Two new students from Mt. Emmons are registered at the B.Y.U. for the winter quarter. Jean Mecham transferred from the University of Utah to the Provo school. The other to enroll en-roll is Wanda Sadler. Both young ladies are freshmen. Mrs. Hyrum Smith and Norma Well were hostesses at a shower show-er Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Robert Stevenson (LaRae Wall) at the ward house. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wall. Parents of Bob are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stevenson, Stev-enson, of Mtn. Home. Rites uniting unit-ing the couple were performed recently at Las Vegas. Both have employment in Salt Lake. Mrs. Robert Deshler, of Salt Lake City, spent the weeknd here to be present at the shower show-er for her sister, Mrs. Robert Stevenson. , Mrs. Ina Mecham has had her home remodeled and a new living liv-ing room added. Other building operations in Mt. Emmons in clude, a three-room addition which Wesley Thacker is making mak-ing to his home. Carpenters are repairing the Floyd Case home, which was partially destroyed by fire on January 2. Defective wiring has been determined as the cause of the fire. Damage to the house and contents was in exess of $3500. Mr. and Mrs. Max Clark, of Salt Lake City, have been visiting vis-iting Mrs. Clark's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell. Dan Cupid has been unusually active at Altamont high school during the current year, chalking chalk-ing up six direct hits. Victims of the fellow with the bow and arrows ar-rows are Veloy Rust, junior, who married Louis Farnsworth both of Mtn. Hdme; Ruby Tit-comb, Tit-comb, FreshmcUi, now the wife of Chad Snedeger, a Mt. Emmons Em-mons couple; Glenna Maxfield, sophomore, now Mrs. Udell All-red; All-red; and Jean Allred, freshman, who married Ray Lambert, all four of Altonah. The most recent high school romance to lead to the altar is that of JoAnn Ward, of Mt. Emmons, formerly of Marysvale, and Wane Workman, of Bluebell. Blue-bell. JoAnn, a junior, and Wane, a senior, were married in Coalville, Coal-ville, Jan. 13. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Ward, who have recently returned to Marysvale after several sev-eral months residence in Mt. Emmons, where Mr. Ward was connected with the L. A. Young construction Co. Wane's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hillary Workman, Work-man, of Bluebell. Wane is the only one of the bridegrooms enrolid at school at the time of his marriage. The new Mr. and Mrs. Workman are continuing their school work. |
