Show i Two Weeks Left On University Scenting Bourses Nearing completion with greater success than ever anticipated, the University of Scouting has attracted at-tracted over 310 scouters of the Uintah Basin and 150 of these are expected to qualify for graduation at the December 9 closing. Friday's session will be the fifth in a series of six. It will get underway un-derway at 7:30 p.m. with the inspiration in-spiration ceremony entitled, "A Beacon for Freedom." (Continued from Page One) 25' session, of the University of Scouting which attracted 164 scouters. Duchesne District had 24 scouters, representing 52.1 of their registered adults in scouting. Roosevelt District placed secpnd with 51.9. Sixty-seven attended from Roosevelt. Moon Lake District, who has twice won top attendance honors with 75 of their registered scouters present, dropped to 35 last Friday. They had 18 scouters present. Fifty-five scouters traveled travel-ed from Vernal to give Uintah District Dis-trict 32. In order to qualify for a graduation grad-uation certificate, a scouter attending at-tending the University of Scouting must do one of the following: (a-attend (a-attend five of the six sessions, or (b- attend four of the six sessions and complete a two hour study make-up assignment. Last Friday evening at the' fourth session, Scouts from Troop 250 presented the opening inspirational inspiration-al ceremony entitled, "Out Under the Stars." Saturday, Dec. 3, members of Rowan Stutz' Basic Scoutmaster Training course will take -an overnight over-night camping trip. . Scouters from Tabiona hold the record of traveling the fartherest to attend the University of Scouting. Scout-ing. Six men from Tabiona have been in attendance three of the four sessions. Those attending the final session December 9, are encouraged to bring their partners with them. |
