Show Oil Development Making Slow But Steady Progress The oil scene has been a little lit-tle quiet now for sometime, but important projects are underway. under-way. The California company is drilling a well near Gusher; the Carter company one in Strawberry valley. Activity has been humming at the latter well for several months. Late reports indicate the company is setting a 20-inch casing at about 1,100 feet. Workers are down about a thousand feet at the Gusher well, eight miles southeast of the Ute Tribal No 1. which cheated such a phenomenon last summer. It is known that the formations forma-tions are deeper in the northern north-ern part of the Basin1, at least as far north as the Ute Tribal well; and the Gusher well, being be-ing drilled south o f the Ute Tribal, should reach oil at a lesser depth. It is estimated the well will start to produce in the Green river formation at about 7,500 feet, as contrasted with the 9,350 feet necessary to bring the Ute Tribal into production. pro-duction. ! |
