Show I I Park Party Given For Past Leaders Adult members of the Roosevelt Roose-velt Stake enjoyed a Chuck Wagon Wag-on Supper at the city park Wednesday, Wed-nesday, June 13. The party was in honor of President Hollis Hut linger and President Clifford Drol-linger Drol-linger who have been released from the presidency of the stake. Western atmosphere for the evening eve-ning was provided by the western west-ern clothing of members of the stake as well as by the Chuck Wagon wich was pulled up near the fire. Western and square dance records were played within the wagon. High councilmen donned caps and aprons and served the more than five hundred who were in attendance. Mrs, Jay Fitzgerald and Bennie Schmeitt, Stake MIA organist and chorister were in charge of the program which followed the chuck wagon meal. Stake MIA superintendent, Evan Percival was emcee for the evening eve-ning and announced the following program: Opening prayer Russel Todd; community singing was led by Bennie Schmeitt; vocal trio, Mrs. Lyle Hintze, Mrs. Harold Timothy and Mrs. Ted Heath, ac comrJanied by Mrs. Hollis Hul-Linger; Hul-Linger; violin solo, by Mrs. Ray Summers accompanied by Mrs. Fitzgerald; vocal duet by Mrs. Fitzgerald and Mr. Schmiett. Other numbers were: novelty dance by Mrs Paul Murphy and Mrs. Parley Rawlings; vocal, solo by Exie Lynn Esauk accompanied by Sherril Merrill; vocal duet, Dawn Huber and Dorothy Luck, accompanied by Rex Taylor and his guitar; Quartet, Garrett Stone, Ned Gines, James Lemon and Bennie Ben-nie Schmiett accompanied by Mrs. Schmiett. Remarks of appreciation of the service rendered by the honored guests were made by President E. J. Nixon. Responses were made by Presidents Hullinger and Drol-linger. Drol-linger. Presentation of gifts (luggage) to the ' retiring presidency and wives was made by Dr R. V. Larson, Lar-son, president of the High Priest's quorum. A floor show on the tennis courts followed by dancers who were to represent the Roosevelt Stake at June Conference concluded con-cluded the evening. Closing prayer pray-er was offered by stake patriarch, J. Harold Eldredge. |
