Show Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Rockwood is Mrs. Rockwood's mother, Mrs. Ella Gallagher, of Salt Lake City. , Mrs. Rilla Memmott, of Helper, Help-er, is visiting in Roosevelt with her son, Cliff Memmott. and family. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Harmston, of Salt Lake City, arrived last Saturday to visit a week with Mrs. Harmston's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jordan. Salt Lake City visitors several days last week were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferron, who returned Saturday night. Word has been received from El Paso, Texas, that Mr. and Mrs. Grant Stevens are the proud parents of a baby boy born March 7. Mrs. Stevens is the former Mary Lee Morten-sen, Morten-sen, of Myton. Mrs. Mortensen is in El Paso visiting her daughter and new grandson. Mrs. W. H. Linck, of Myton, had as guests at her home over the week-end her niece and nephew, Barbara and Vernal Mortensen, of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gilbert McKenna and Mrs. L. A. Jenkins are planning to leave next Wednesday for San Diego, where they will join their husbands Who have been working there since January Jan-uary 1, and accompany them home. Mrs. Harold Dillman returned Sunday from California, where she visited relatives in Los Angeles, An-geles, Temple City, Culver City and El Monte. Returning to Roosevelt with her for a visit and business trip was her father, fath-er, N. E. Beaird. He left Monday to visit in Vernal with "his son, Nolan Beaird, and family. Mrs. Parley Rawlings chaperoned chap-eroned a group of students entering en-tering the Better Business Skills and Drama tournament held at Carbon college, Price, March 21. James Hall was in Salt Lake City last weekend on business. Mrs. Irene Fretwell will leave Friday to spend Easter with her daughter, Yvonne, at Mt. Pleasant. She will be accompanied accom-panied as far as Salt Lake by Mrs. A. L. Norman. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mari-mon, Mari-mon, of Whiterocks. plan to leave Friday to attend a Masonic Mason-ic Grand Lodge visitation at Provo. They will spend Easter at Mt. Pleasant with their daughter, Nancy. Mrs. Leon Galloway returned this week after enjoying several months vacationing in California. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Tanner, of Myton have bought the Sabe Timothy farm, and are moving there this week. Alva Snow, Marion Bowman and Marvin Cook made a business busi-ness trip to Denver Sunday and Monday. They joined Harvey Creech, Snow Machinery salesmen, sales-men, who had been there several sev-eral days. Mrs. Rosamond Ellsworth and baby daughter, of -Salt "Lake City have been visiting here with Mrs. Ellsworth's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Czar Rudy. Don Rudy, son tf Mr. and Mrs. Czar Rudy, left -Friday to report to Seattle for U. S. Naval Na-val duty. His brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Rudy took him as far as Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon spent from Monday to Thursday of last week in Salt Lake on business. Mrs. J. O. Orser left Wednesday Wednes-day morning by plane for San Diego to spend a two-week va-l cation with her son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Commander and Mrs. L. Stanley Orser. and family. fam-ily. CORRECTION The Standard wishes to correct a brief last week which stated that Elroy Wilkins had left to enter the armed services. The article should have read that Mr. and Mrs. Max Wilkins and daughter, Connie Jean, left last week for Hamilton Field, Calif., where Max was to report for duty with the U. S. armed forces. They expected ex-pected to leave within four days for Washington. Mrs. Stewart drove to Salt Lake last week to get the 8V-pound new arrival, who answers to the name, Nancy Elizabeth, named after George's mother. Mr. Stewart was in Denver on business at the time his wife received word about the baby. They are really elated over the event. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Huish. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Dr. and Mrs.' Paul Stringham, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harmston, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Joe Snyder, and Mr. and Mrs. Curley Clark were among the many local basketball fans who witnessed the tournament games in Salt Lake last Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Leon Galloway, accompanied accom-panied .by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Venderwood, and son. Buster, returned to Roosevelt this week. Mrs. Galloway has spent the past winter in California with Mr. and Mrs. Ned Zabriewskie, and in Portland, Oregon, with her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. D. L. Galloway. The Vanderwoods, who live in Long Beach, Calif., visited a few days recently with her mother, Mrs. Leon Galloway, and with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Galloway. Prior to her December Decem-ber wedding, Mrs. Vanderwood was the former Roka Galloway. Mr. and Mrs. Anthon B. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and son, Douglas, motored mo-tored to Salt Lake City Wednesday, Wednes-day, where they attended the basketball tournament for three days. They also visited in Delta with Mr. Christensen's parents before returning to Roosevelt Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Tom White and family left Saturday to make their home in Tremonton. Ut. Bonnie will remain in Roosevelt Roose-velt for a few weeks before joining her parents. Beverly will remain here as an employee em-ployee of the Mountain States Telephone Co. Miss Tree is a former teacher at Roosevelt high school. Lowell Hall, student at U. of U. spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber T. Hall and family. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Harmston Harm-ston returned Wednesday after vacationing ten days at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Dii. P. Dean Black will be at the Thos. R.-Todd' residence in Roosevelt Thursday, March 29. 3-22-ltp Boyd Mullins, a graduate student stu-dent at University of Utah, has spent the past week with his parents during the short vacation vaca-tion period between winter and spring quarters. Mrs. Olga Roberts and son, Richard, of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Walter J. Wood, of Driggs. Idaho, visited during the week with friends and relatives in Roosevelt and vicinity. Mrs. Woods visited with her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Oberhansley, in Neola. and i with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and . Mrs. Verlen Labrum, La-brum, in Roosevelt. The group returned to Salt Lake City Monday. Richard will -visit his mother in Salt Lake for a time before returning to his base at San Diega, Calif., where he is stationed with the Navy. |
