Show Polio Workers .Thrill At Reports Given The annual Duchesne County Infantile Paralysis meeting help" here rectnely was a great success, suc-cess, reports Mrs. Anthon B. Christensen, "March of Dimes chairman. Volunteer polio workers from Duchesne and Uintah counties were thrilled with the reports presented by guest speakers. Dr. Creed Haymond, state fund raising chairman; S. Bruce Hanks, Utah and Nevada polio representative, and Mrs. Edmund Ed-mund Evans, adviser of women's activities. The workers pledged to double dou-ble their efforts in an attempt to move Duchesne County out of the "red," inasmuch as the county is listed as eighth to the lowest county in the s!at? with a per capita payment of only 29 cents per person. Grand County leads the State of Utah with a 75 cents per capita standing. stand-ing. In attendance at the meeting were Mrs. Anna Johansen, Mrs. Gladys Drollinger, Mrs. Ruth Allen, Mrs. Ranee Hancock, Mrs. Elva Stewart, Mrs. Opal Dill-man, Dill-man, Mrs. Ann Buchanan. Mrs. Ellen Rawlings, Mrs. Mattie' Edwards. Ed-wards. J. Harold Eldredge, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon B. Christonsan, all from the Roosevel area; Mrs. Dorothea Allred, M-s. Josephine Jo-sephine Beebe and Mrs. Kachel Neilsen, of Duchesne; and Alvin Bowden, March of Dimes chairman chair-man for Uintah Cou'ity, and. Rodney Ross, Uintah County In-1 fantile Paralysis chairman, of Vernal; and the Salt Lake City guest speakers. Films on the Mothers' March were shown, after which refreshments re-freshments were served by the hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Christensen. |
