Show Grandma Holgate Celebrates 90th Birthday Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen entertained en-tertained at dinner Thursday in honor of Mrs. Larsen's mother. Mrs. 'Aoretta "Grandma" Hoi-bate's Hoi-bate's 90th birthday, which wasr Monday, November 24. Present for the occasion were Mrs. Net Anderson. Mrs. Hol-eate's Hol-eate's sister from Grantsville: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Judd. of Salt Lake: Mr. and Mrs. Ra Scholes and boys, of Roosevelt: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holgate and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Hale Holgate. Milt Larsen and Sherry Evans, Ev-ans, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans were taken to the Roosevelt hospital Wednesday, Wednes-day, where they were treated for pneumonia. They were able to return home Friday. Miss Shirley Zirker. of Heber md Miss Marilyn Zirker, of Provo. spent Thanksgiving with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Zirker. Pauline Larsen spent Thanksgiving Thanks-giving weekend with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen Miss Merlynn Ross, also of Provo. Pro-vo. visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross. Gayle and Naomi Gilbert :ame in from Provo to spend Thanksgiving with their folks. Mrs. Celia Gilbert is reported well enough to leave the hospital. hos-pital. She will remain in Salt Lake with her brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Olsen. until she is able to re turn home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Calvin and family, of Salt Lake, spent the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen. Mrs. Calvin and Mrs. Jensen are sisters. Willard Garden , of Bingham spent Thanksgiving with his mother. Mrs. Rose Gilbert. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross. Leon. Larry and Lannv Ross, and Marvin G. Shields were Thanksgiving dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Ver-nal Nielson, of Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ross and 'amily. of Green River, visited over the weekend at the home of Mr. . and Mrs. Marion Ross. Francis and Marion are brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson. of Myton, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird on Sunday. Mrs. Nielson is Mr. Bird's sister. David Cobia and George Tan-nen. Tan-nen. of Moses Lake, Washington spent the Thanksgiving holidays holi-days with Mr. and Mrs. John Zirker. Mr. and Mrs. John Zirker were called to Heber by the illness of their daughter, Mrs. Clyde DeGraff . x Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening were Lois Terpening and Marion Ross. Mrs. Marvin G. Shields returned re-turned Sunday from Mescalero. New Mexico, after spending 10 days visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Zirker. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross and family were dinner guests on Thanksgiving at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ross in Roosevelt. i Mrs. Lynn Ross entertained at a dinner Monday evening- in honor . of Lt.2 Bryant Gilbert, Gil-bert, who will leave soon for Japan. Marvin G. Shields was also present. The MIA held its ward Gold and Green Ball Saturday evening. eve-ning. Theme was "Blue Hawaii," with the hall beautifully decor ated to carry out the motif. The girls who had won in dividual awards were honored and each was presented with a red rose. So honored were Pauline Paul-ine Larsen, Ellen Gilbert Goodrich, Good-rich, Delaine and Mildred Bird, Merlynn and Donna Ross. Two dances were presented during the floor show, one the "Rocking Waltz," and the other to "Nola." Music for the ball was furnished furn-ished by Grant Peel and his Rythm Rascals. |
