Show Open Night At ftll A On Tuesday Open night for the M.I.A. was presented last Tuesday evening. eve-ning. A skit, "The Ward We Live In," was presented by the members of the Junior Gleaners class under the direction of j their leader, Rose Olsen. Other groups also entertained with clever presentations. The remainder re-mainder of thetime was spent in dancing, after which pie and ice ream were served. j The home of Sunday Shcool Supt. Theron Horrocks was the scene of a party last Monday, honoring three of the members who are leaving soon to attend college. They include . Marilyn Peterson, Ann Peterson and Shirley Cloward. Officers and teachers in the organization and their partners' enjoyed an evening eve-ning of games, after which refreshments re-freshments were served. Each girl was presented with a book. Rulon Smithson, who is employed em-ployed in Provo, spent Sunday here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson. He returned re-turned Monday, accompanied by his brother, Carl, who plans on entering the vocational school there. Rulon will continue his studies at the Brigham Young University beginning with the fall quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holmes made a business trip to Salt Lake City last Tuesday.- Mr. and Mrs. Royal Horrocks announce the arrival of a new grandson last week to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Horrocks, of Vernal. Ver-nal. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gardner also' join the list of proud grandparents this week, with the arrival of a new granddaughter grand-daughter last Tuesday. Also included in-cluded on the welcoming committee com-mittee are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Labrum. of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. COMING HOME Deer season will hold added pleasure this year for Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian, who have received word that their son, Shirley, is coming from England Eng-land for a visit, and plans to be here for the hunt. The young man has resided there for several years, near the parents par-ents of his' wife, whom he met when he was stationed there during his service in the Armed Forces. Speakers in Sacrament meeting meet-ing last Sunday were three young people from Roosevelt and High Councilman Theron Leavitt. They were Carol Mem-mott, Mem-mott, Diane Nelson and Val Timothy. A trumpet duet was also furnished by Kelly Crozier and Lauren Wardle, accompanied accompan-ied by Phyllis Wardle Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Jensen fe atrip to Salt Lake City last Friday, returning home the following day. Mr and Mrs. Louis Guston, of Indeanola, visited at the Letter Let-ter Gardner and Deone Spencer homes last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Seeley and family, fam-ily, of Salt Lake City, were also guests at the Spencer home. |
