Show Church Leaders Send Greetings On Christmas JOY - PEACE - CHS1SSTIV2AS Three beautiful words and Oh, the thoughts that accompany each one! Joy is a lively emotion of happiness, gladness, mirth, festivity. What one word can better portray our inward feelings and outward emotions than this. The writer catches the spirit in the song, "Joy to the World, The Lord is Come, Let Earth Receive Her King." To the shepherds the angel said, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people." peo-ple." Our personal joy at' this particular season is in commemoration com-memoration of the earthly birth of the author of this glad message. If a Christian is living as he ought, he cannot can-not think of Christ but whatjoy comes into his heart. Peace is spiritual content; a stale of quiet and tranquility.. Here again the angel declared "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." How much better this world would be if in these nineteen hundred and fifty two years we would have learned this one lesson, and truly had peace with one another an-other as well as in our own hearts. " 'And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call him Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins.' Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the phophet saying, 'Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which bsing interpreted is 'God is with us.' " Christ, the God of this world, did come to live "like man almost;" to teach us the better way, and then to die for the sins of men. Inasmuch as we are thinking of His birth, let us rededicate ourselves to His ideals and make the world a better place for all. May joy, Peace, and a real Christmas be with all.
