Show Moon Lake Scouts Rate High In Achievement Eighty-nit awards went to the Moon Lake Scout District boy scouts and explorers as part of the 588 awards given at the High Uintah Camp Court of Honor on June 29. Glen Mohlman, District chairman, officiated in the presentation pre-sentation of these awards. From Mt. Emmons Troop 254, Chad Hansen received his Star badge and merit badges for first aid, home repairs, astronomy and pioneering. Steve Evans earned animal industry, and Laird Hart-man Hart-man received animal industry and home repairs merit badges. Pete Nyberg of ,Mt. Home, Post 2249, received 'his Star badge and merit badges for music, camping, public speaking, fishing, dairying and sheep farming. Gene Berrett of Bluebell, Post 2269, earned home repairs, athletics ath-letics and public speaking merit badges. From Altonah Dick Miller, Mack Jacobsen, Dean Shiner and Ernest Riley received Star scout badges. George Reay and Dean Carroll received first Class badges while a second class award was earned by Bobby Dunsmore. As for merit badges for Altonah, Alto-nah, Troop 266, Norman Maxfield earned cooking, Allen Ames, hiking, hik-ing, fishing and horsemanship; Ernest , Riley, farm mechanics, dairying, hiking, home repairs and citizenship; George Reay, beef produotion, hiking, horsemanship and fishing. Claude Murray, Altonah Scoutmaster, Scout-master, received farm layout and building arrangements, farm home and its planning, personal fitness and home repairs. Other merit badges for the Altonah scouts includtd: Dick Miller Mil-ler in fishing, home repairs, dairying, citizenship in the home, hiking and horsemanshp; Dean Carroll for fishing;. Mack Jacob-son Jacob-son in citizenship in the home, cooking, fishing and beef production; pro-duction; Larry Maxfield for fishing, fish-ing, home repairs and athletics; Dean Shiner for fishing and. horsemanship; and Dee Clark for horsemanship, cooking and fishing. fish-ing. Five explorers from Bonela, Post 2256, earned 22 merit badges: Lloyd Swasey for hiking, hik-ing, farm mechanics, fishing and automobiling; Kirk Brotherson for hiking, horsemanship, bookbinding, bookbind-ing, fishing, animal . industry, plumbing, pioneering and poultry keeping. Jack Brotherson earned farm mechanics, machinery, fishing, citizenship ci-tizenship in the nation and plumbing. plumb-ing. Jimmy Brotherson received woodwork a nd farm mechanics. Gerald Kofford earned machinery, electricity and cooking while Lyle Oman was awarded woodwork and plumbing merit badges. Dwight Mitchell and Jack Mitchell Mit-chell of Upalco, Troop 258, received re-ceived their second class badges. W. Grant Peel of the District committee was awarded fireman-ship fireman-ship and wildlife management merit badges. Next Moon Lake District Court of Honor will be August 5 at '3:00 p.m. |
