Show Ashley Forest Voids Fireworks Due to the dangerous burning condition of forest fuels, it has been deemed advisable to prohibit pro-hibit the discharge of fireworks upon the Ashley National Forest For-est during the summer season, according to Forest Supervisor Wm. D. Hurst. The order prohibiting pro-hibiting the discharge of fireworks fire-works was signed by Regional Forester C. J. Olsen and reads as follows: "The throwing or placing of a burning cigarette, cigar, pipa heel, match,, firecracker, or any ignited substance in any place where it may start a fire; and the discharging of any kind of fireworks on any portion of a National Forest closed by order of the Regional Forester to the discharging of fireworks." Fishermen and picnickers are urged to exercise extreme caution cau-tion with fire during their visits to the National Forest. Never throw away a lighted cigarette and put out your camp fire before be-fore leaving it unattended. These simple rules will prevent most of the fires started In our forests for-ests and on the ranges. |
