Show Safety Award Is Given Ashley National Forest The National Safety1 Council recently awarded the Ashley ; National Forest a certificate of commendation for the operation of 292,656 man hours without a disabling injury. This award is especially significant when it is understood that the type of work Forest Service employees engage in is considered above average as a hazard risk. The Ashley National Forest possesses one of the top safety records among the National Forests For-ests of the nation, according to Forest Supervisor, Wm. D. Hurst. The safety program on the unit stresses the need for acquainting acquaint-ing each man with the hazards of his job, and teaching him how to do his work safely. j . i |
